Eamonn Percy is an experienced business leader with a track record of success in delivering performance and profitability, in C-level leadership roles, with global companies in the energy, technology and engineering sectors. 

He has board level experience in the commercial, academic, and regulatory sectors; is active in supporting the local community; and has been honoured with awards for professional development and community involvement.

Eamonn is currently the President of The Percy Group Capital and Business Advisers.  From 2008 to 2010, he was an executive of BC Hydro as President and COO of Powertech, the commercial, for-profit energy engineering subsidiary of BC Hydro.  Powertech is a global energy engineering consulting, testing and systems integration firm, serving a large client base of more than 300+ customers in 30 countries around the world.   Working in close co-operation with the Powertech’s Executive Chair and Board, he restructured the company and set it on a high growth path by developing and implementing a new strategic plan, creating a strong financial position (by increasing sales 30+%, doubling operating income and returning it to cash flow positive), and aligning the organization with new global market opportunities.  

From 2002 to 2008, he built a thriving business advisory firm focused on achieving significant financial improvements for its clients, through the implementation of strategic growth initiatives.  From 1997 to 2002, he was Vice-President, Operations, for Ballard Power Systems where he played a key role in building organizational capability and ensuring effective working partnerships with key global partners such as Daimler and Ford Motor Company.  From 1992 to 1997 he had general management leadership responsibility for Pirelli Cables and Optical Systems, where he led the management team in its restructuring and dramatic turnaround.  It was returned to strong profitability (from an annual loss to an annual profit of >$10M) and transformed into Canada’s largest supplier of fibre optic cable with sales >$75 million per annum.  

Eamonn has completed Executive Education in Leading and Managing Change at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, earned an MBA (Finance) from University of Toronto, a B. Eng. (Electrical Engineering with a Economics Minor) from Lakehead University and a Dip. Tech. (Electrical Power) from British Columbia Institute of Technology.

He Chairs the University of BC Clean Energy Research Centre Advisory Board; and is a member of the Simon Fraser University Surrey Campus Advisory Council, City of Surrey Clean Energy Advisory Network, and the UBC School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Industry Advisory Committee. 

He is a past board member of Lakehead University Board of Governors, the Architectural Institute of BC Board, and Ballard Generation Systems Board.  He has also contributed significantly to the community as: a partner in the BC Technology Social Venture Partners, an Advisor to Starworks – Developmental Disabilities Association, and other similar community initiatives.

In 2007, Eamonn received the BCIT Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Leadership and Service to the Community, and in 1999 was a recipient of Canada’s Top 40 under 40 Award.  He lives in Vancouver, is married with 3 children, and enjoys the outdoors.
